It is not often that a digital artist is capable of achieving abstract paintings that stimulate the viewer´s own feelings and emotions.
Suzanne Burgos aka Claridad ARTWITHIN sburgos@att.net is such an artist. Her creations are warm and emotive, yet pure in their abstract amorphism. She has sensibility and projects her own feelings to the viewer, bringing peace and joy in a way that´s not even convenient to descibe with innacurate words. And all this, most of the time, is achieved with 2D programs! Far from those 3D renderings that are more designs than paintings, she keeps herself out of such irrelevant trends to produce a magic world of her own!
For this reasons, DigitalPainters is so proud to present the work of
SUZANNE BURGOS ART AUTOBIOGRAPHY
At age ten, all I wanted to do was be a fashion designer. While the other girls were playing with their Barbie dolls, I was at work designing for Vogue, at least in my imaginary world.
As time went by and I moved into my teens, my art took a back seat to the new adventures that presented themselves. It wasn't until I was in my last year of high school that I started to really apply myself to painting. I found myself frustrated at not being able to create non-objective abstracts. I felt a failure. I could always see something there, a clear object or subject. I would turn my abstracts into something unintended using conte crayon as a sketching medium to sketch what I saw in my tempera abstract. My first failure was a big success to my parents. That painting decorated a living room wall for 45 years. It is now in my house.
Over time, there were more works of art, ranging from paintings, textile abstracts, clay sculpture, weaving art, and such, that always seemed to add to the interior decoration of the family home. My parents saved a lot of money on interior decoration.
Then there was a lull for over twenty years, until I saw some beautiful fractal art. The colors and designs were amazing. I knew I had to get back to what I loved…create art.
In January of this year I began to work with fractals. This art form seemed to stir and increase my creativity and inspiration. I began using XenoDream right away. I used Apophysis a little as well. Creating art that appeared like a painting, using fractals, became my focus.
In March, I had an opportunity to buy Painter IX at a reduced price, which I could afford. That was a significant turning point for me. I am back doing what I love, painting, expressing myself through art. I work from inspiration, something comes from within myself that paints the image. Sometimes music is my inspiration, but always I must go within myself to find that spark that becomes art. Thus, my user name, ARTWITHIN.
Now, I am embarking on still more learning as I begin working with Photoshop CS2. What will evolve is hidden at this moment, but you can be sure I will have fun and find how it will add to my art.
In creating art, I also try to get within the picture, through contemplating the evolution of the image components, i.e., color, form, design. As I come in touch with the essence of what is being created, I lay in my emotions, meaning, a part of me in every work.
Although my art has meaning to me, I believe that the viewer offers a subjective interpretation of what they see, what touches them, what it says to them. The viewer and I are collaborators in each painting. It is my hope that the art I create will in some way touch the hearts and minds of all who view it.
Hope you enjoy viewing my work.

CONTRIBUTIONS
I want to make clear the point about contributing your art to this gallery.
Even though, as we say below, we´re open for everyone, and though we are not an elitist group or community, we are a gallery devoted to DIGITAL ART WORTHY TO BE PRINTED AND EXPOSED AS A TRUE PAINTING.
So, bearing this in mind, please do not submit any art that does not fulfill this requirement. We won´t write any rejection notes, they are unfair and discouraging. We won´t qualify your art, but if it doesn´t comply with our only requirement, it won´t be shown over here! So, if after a reasonable period of time you don´t see your art in this gallery, you may want to re-consider your concept. It might be digital alright, but it may not necessarily be a painting!
OUR MISSION
Digital art these days consists mainly of skinning, illustrations and 3D renderings. Even though many of them are high quality pieces of considerable artistic value, we do not think they are conceived to be printed and exposed as paintings.
Digital galleries throughout the net are showing true digital paintings, but they restrict their acceptance to the owner´s preferences or ideas about what should be called art .
We want to offer a showroom for the artist who respects his/her own art. If you regard your art as worthy of being printed and exposed in a gallery, museum or at any art lover´s wall, the doors are open here for you!
We do not restrict acceptance of art pieces to our concepts about art. Any kind of art expression is valid for us, as long as it has been made to be printed and exposed as a true painting.
